Slim chance of national consensus govt. : Prachanda

Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said he sees a slim chance of formation of the national consensus government in spite of week-long rigorous discussions for this.

Addressing a comprehensive political seminar on ‘peace process, constitution making and Newa autonomous state’ organized by the Newa Autonomous State Manka Struggle Committee at Patan of Lalitpur on Sunday, Chairman Dahal said though three more days have been added for the formation of national consensus government, there was no cogent reason that agreement on this would be reached.

However, a national consensus was forged on adding three more days for this, he humorously said adding, another national consensus would be forged on August 31 but for extension of the term of the constituent assembly, he said. “But, we are sorry to say –we are not becoming successful to deliver constitution with the conclusion of the peace process as per the Nepali people’s aspiration,” he rued. We discussed on forging consensus for the government formation but in reality we are not near the forming of consensus government, he said, adding, however, we are striving for the consensus.
